Day two of travel. We are somewher in the middle of nowhere, west virginia. Yesterday before my tires met highway, I had breakfast with my family one last time. As they went around the table saying the things they WEREN'T going to miss about me, I knew in all reality they were all torn up. But the open road was calling me...
I've taken plenty of road trips in the past, but never took the time to appreciate the beauty that is out there. States that I had written off as 'not worth it' have some amazing things. Who knew west virginia had such beautiful mountains. Or that a farmhouse in ohio can have so much charm. Last night I sat in the middle of a field of wild flowers at dusk and it took my breathe away. I am so happy that I did this. These have been the best two days I've ever spent in a car.
As we looked at the map this morning to plan our route to virginia beach, we realized all the historic places we would be passing today. I am excited to see where I will find myself at dusk tonight...
